How long is the walk to the beach?

The walk from Amuleto down to La Ropa Beach takes from 15 to 25 minutes, typically described by our guests as a pleasant stroll. The uphill return provides excellent cardio exercise but, of course, is more challenging. You can easily return to the hotel by cab in less than three minutes, for about 4 US dollars.

Do you allow children?

Due to our intimate size and dramatic hillside design, we only accept guests 16 years of age or older. The only exception that we make is when one party books the entire hotel and takes sole legal responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of their children.

Do you host weddings (or events) at the hotel?

Yes, we do! Contact us at reservations@amuleto.net with your questions. We will happily respond with information about weddings and events at Amuleto.

Do you provide airport transportation?

Due to local regulations, transportation to and from the airport can only be provided by authorized taxi companies. Upon arrival, after you’ve cleared immigration and have picked up your luggage, proceed to the taxi booth located inside the airport, directly across from your arrival gate. Simply ask for a cab to Amuleto. With advance notice, we can arrange for an authorized private driver to meet you at the arrival gate, if you prefer.

Are there restaurants nearby?

There are a number of popular restaurants in Zihuatanejo, located along the beaches of La Ropa, La Madera and Playa Municipal and several in town. The distance from Amuleto to the center town is 3 miles. Our guests usually take a cab to their selected destination. Our staff will be glad to help you select a restaurant and make reservations.

Are there golf courses?

Two quality courses are located in Ixtapa, 9.5 miles from the hotel – Marina Golf (www.golfmarinaixtapa.com) and Palma Real Golf. They offer golf carts and equipment rentals. Our staff will be glad to help you with reservations.

Do you accept US dollars, credit cards?

We do accept US dollars and major credit cards (Amex, Visa, Mastercard). We do not exchange currency at the hotel. ATMs are available at the airport and in town. While most restaurants and cabs will accept US dollars, know that major credit cards and ATMS offer the best exchange rates.

Gratuities

The suggested gratuity is 10% for the aggregate of hotel services, including housekeeping, security guard, gardener, concierge, manager, and laundry workers. The typical restaurant gratuity for quality service in Zihuatanejo is 15%. We take pride in our team spirit at here at Amuleto. Our dedicated employees, many of whom you never see, divide gratuities equally among themselves. We ask that you leave your gratuity at the front desk upon checkout.

Scooters rentals?

Scooters are available for rent in town. Our staff will be happy to arrange your booking. We strongly recommend that you exercise caution when riding scooters in town and on the surrounding highways.

Are the Yoga sessions available?

We can arrange private Yoga sessions at the hotel or, if you prefer, at the instructor’s studio. We’re happy get you a quote and book your session, ideally in advance of your arrival.

Do you offer massages?

We offer in-suite massages, priced at $50 US per hour, per person.

Is fishing available?

Zihuatanejo is a very popular fishing destination. Several experienced captains are happy to suggest a variety fishing excursions. We can refer you to captains that have worked with our guests and assist you with booking your trip. For more information, please contact: reservations@amuleto.net.

Do you offer meal plans?

We do not offer meal plans, but will be glad to customize one for you. Just let us know what you have in mind and we will put a quote together.

Is surfing available?

Surf is often up at Las Gatas Beach, right down the hill from the hotel. The best nearby surf spots in the area are at Playa Linda (9 miles), Troncones (24 miles), Saladita (29 miles) and at El Rancho (32 miles). Surfing instruction is available from experienced instructors, who will pick you up at the hotel, usually between the hours of 8am to 10 am.

What are the Activities available in the area?

The Zihuatanejo area offers a plethora of ocean activities including world-class sport fishing, snorkeling, kayaking, jet skiing and boat charters. In addition to the stunning, white sand beaches that ring Zihuatanejo Bay, you may enjoy visiting outlying beaches such as Troncones, Ixtapa, Playa Larga and Barra de Postosi. Two quality golf courses are a short cab ride from the hotel. Take a zip line above a tropical forest, horseback ride on the beach, swim with dolphins and explore recently excavated pyramids. You’ll enjoy exploring the quaint shops and restaurants in the friendly town of Zihuatanejo. Then again, the preferred activity of our happiest guests is to do absolutely nothing!

Do you sell travel Insurance?

No, we do not, but we strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance. Multiple travel insurance plans are available online, giving you the peace of mind you need for a perfect vacation!

Wheelchair accessibility

Unfortunately, due to the multiple elevations of our hillside property, we are not able to provide wheelchair access.

Gym

We offer an efficient gym, covered by a palm palapa with stunning ocean views, equipped with treadmills, free weights, bands, a bench, and mats.

Booking

Full payment is required at the time of booking. Rates can change without notice, at any time prior to your booking confirmation. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Booking changes

Dates changes might cause rate adjustments, and are possible up to 30 days prior to check-in, depending on availability. No refunds or credit will apply towards other expenses. Promotional discounts are not transferable. Duration reductions follow the cancellation policy.

Cancellation

We will refund reservation payments, if and only if the suite is re-booked. A $100 US administrative fee will apply. We will send you a refund by check, 30 days after the scheduled checkout date. We strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance.

Check-In and Check-Out

Check-in time is 2:00 PM. Early check-in is possible, with no additional charge, if your suite is available. In the event of your early arrival, please notify us of your expected arrival time.

Check-out time is 1:00 PM. We charge a $100 US fee for late checkouts, that are only available if we have no arrivals for the suite on that day.

Children

We welcome children, 16 years of age and older. We will host younger children only when guests book the entire hotel and take legal responsibility for their children’s safety and wellbeing. The hotel is not suitable for children fifteen years of age and younger, without parental supervision.

Pets

Sorry, we do not host pets.

Smoking

The interiors of our suites are non-smoking. Smoking is permitted on terraces and in open spaces. Please be considerate of your next-door neighbors when smoking on your terrace. Our staff will direct you to the designated smoking area at our restaurant.
